Toy Thieves

Sep 1, 2020

Toy thieves was a project that I joined while on an academic exchange with Kajaani University of Applied Sciences. Through my 3 months with Team Grappling Hook, I was given my first opportunity to work with a relatively large team (10 people), to create a 3D isometric, local multiplayer party game.

Software: Blender, Adobe Photoshop, Unity 3D Engine, Git

Role: 3D Artist, Animator

Modular Environment Hexes

My main role in the team was to create their stylised environment art. Through my role, I was able to further shape the direction that the environment art was going into. After the project concluded, the environment assets were staff picked on Sketchfab! I also wrote an Art Spotlight article on the art workflow that was done when creating this work.

You can read the Sketchfab spotlight article at: https://sketchfab.com/blogs/community/art-spotlight-modular-environment-hexes/?utm_source=website&utm_campaign=newsfeed

All hexes are around 4-5K tris each. They were modelled in Blender and textured in Photoshop.

Puncher Toy and Spinner Enemies

Aside from the environment hex tiles, I created (modelled, textured, rigged, animated) a puncher toy enemy and a spinner toy enemy. Concept art created by Eero Kinnunen.

Custom shaders were created by another team member but I am unable to showcase them here.
