Frojo's Journey: The Major Arcana

This collection of models were created for my final year project, which is a tarot-inspired AR application. This set only contains the cards from the major arcana, otherwise known as the fool’s journey. The name of the fool in this set is called Frojo, therefore it is called Frojo’s Journey.

Through the process of creating the cards, many assets had their models reused, but had their textures changed. For example, the base humanoid model is highly similar and reused to create every character in the deck.

I wanted to create cards that had a peek-in window effect, hence the decision to explore using an AR application to present this artwork. These are the trackers and interface (UI) that was used in the AR application. They were created solely in Adobe Illustrator.

Concepts were done on pen and paper, modelled in Maya, and textured in Photoshop. Shaders and set-up done in Unity 3D. AR support by Vuforia. Menu and randomiser added to the application as well to easily view 22 cards.

Modelled in Maya and textured in Photoshop. There are 22 cards in total. Each card is about 4-6k tris each.
