TENEBRIS is a puzzle-platformer where you follow the main character, Inanis, through his journey to escape the kingdom of Astrum while a Dark Fog consumes it. Using his light and dark powers, Inanis navigates through the maze-like streets of Astrum, not knowing if he will make it out alive.
Created using Digipen's proprietary Alpha Engine.

Gameplay Programming
and Prototyping
The unique selling point of Tenebris is its focus on traversal and light vs dark mechanics. The player can throw their spear to toggle switches in puzzles and skillfully navigate terrain. Afterwhich, depending on whether the player is in light or dark mode, pulling the spear back to them or pulling the player to the spear respectively.
2D Art Assets
Since we were revolving around the theme of light and dark, I used directly opposite and easily readable colours of whie and black. The backgrounds are green and purple, both of which can represent poison and danger, with the purple being more sinister as the dark mode is used more actively in escape sequences.
Gameplay Trailer
I created the short gameplay trailer for Tenebris using Adobe After Effects, giving me some insight and knowledge of how to use a video editor, transitions, particle playground, and the types of media encoding.
